Get a home appraisal.

Your lender will evaluate the value of the home, which may or may not be the same as the purchase price.

Hire a real estate lawyer.

Your real estate agent or friends/family can recommend a lawyer or notary. A lawyer will not only make sure the paperwork is correct, but also protect your interests and keep you informed every step of the way.

Get property insurance.

Your lender will most likely require you to get insurance coverage in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Close the deal.

Give your lawyer a few days to ready the paperwork before the closing date.

Time to celebrate!

The day you get your key in hand will be a moment to remember. And the beginning of years of new memories. Welcome home!
